The American Cancer Society has acknowledged the longevity of the event and its generous contributions, praising the organizers for hosting the oldest, consecutively held fundraiser for the American Cancer Society in the United States. The American Cancer Society invests in lifesaving research, provides 24/7 information and support, and works to ensure that individuals in every community have access to cancer prevention, detection, and treatment.

The Spring Lamb’s proceeds also benefit the Watsonville based non-profit organization, Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services, which exists to improve the quality of life for children with cancer and support their families in the challenges they face. Jacob’s Heart provides family-centered care that addresses the emotional, practical and financial struggles for families of children and teens during treatment, families experiencing anticipatory grief and those who are bereaved.
